Honey was commonly used in medicine before antibiotics became widespread. Composed of saturated sugars that suck up water, honey deprives bacteria of the liquid they need to survive and multiply.

Melladerm is made from unprocessed (ie not heated) honey which increases its effectiveness compared to other honey wound gels. Melladerm contains no lanolin which minimises allergic reactions and is totally painless.
